WATER BASED LACQUER
Despite their numerous advantages, there are some factors to consider when working with water-based lacquers:
Grain Raising: The water content can cause the grain of the wood to swell and raise, which may require additional sanding between coats to achieve a perfectly smooth finish.
Drying Conditions: The drying and curing process can be more sensitive to environmental conditions. High humidity can prolong the drying time.
Historical Perception: Early formulations of water-based lacquers were not as durable as their solvent-based counterparts. While modern technology has largely overcome these issues, this perception sometimes persists.
